    It is such a challenging subject to draw a comparison study on Western oil and Chinese water color .

    I think the details of the oil color make the objects very true -to-life with depth and the water color is light, free and ephemeral.

    Each to their own and I like them both.

    Many thanks for addressing such a difficult topic and I am sure it is very interesting for others as well.

    1. Hi Dorothy, Thank you so much. Traditional Chinese paintings are mostly without colour, whereas the Westerns are seldom without colour. The media are different. Shading and perspective also are different. The Western painters aim to have a realistic depiction whereas the Chinese artists focus more on the spirit-likeness.
